My Super Hero power

Today is another Summer Learning Journey activity. So we have to decide if we were a super hero what would be our powers. The first power I want to have is Invincibility so that I have better ways to get around and it would be cool for me to have Invincibility powers, I would also like to go to places after that place was closed like Museum or Park or I could break into any security system without any one knowing. 

The second power I want is time power. I want to have time powers because when I am going through something super boring I could just time travel into the future and no one would no that I had to disappeared into the future. When I am dying I could just go back in time and become young again. 

For my third power I wanted to choose Immortality, but I would just  forever for no reason and I already have that in time power. I also want to do teleporting but that has been covered by time power. I want to have magic, why because I get to control anyone using magic I can telporte anyone with magic I can do anything with magic. Pretty cool right.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 1

Today my class is doing summer learning journey and we had 3 options. Option no 1 was choose 10 foods that you would take when you were on a journey from somewhere to somewhere else what would be the 10 foods? The second activity was about culture I had to go on my blog and tell about my culture, language and why my culture is important to me?

The third activity was about charity you had to chose a charity and then you had to do something or the other lets get to what I am doing. I am doing culture because I want everyone to know what I feel about my culture and what my language is.

 So I am from India and I speak Hindi and Malayalam, Malayalam is a language from a place called Kerala. The reason I like being Indian is because when I first came here everyone thought that  I was weak and weird because I was from a different country and I was underestimated and I proved a lot of people wrong. That is one of the many other reasons that I like being an Indian, another reason I liked being Indian is that I am different from people that are in my class because most of them are Samoan, Tongan or Maori and  am one of the few special people that are from India.

Rippa Rugby

Its been a while since I have posted anything so I thought of posting about rippa rugby and I decided to post it. We have had rippa for 5 weeks and our last session happened this week on Wednesday. Our coaches name was Tidda. We learnt to pass the ball, receive the ball after someone passes it to you.

We also were taught how to do scrums and Lineouts. Scrums is a 3 side each team and we have to bind the heads together and then the ref will say the words crouch, bind and then set then another player would come at then put the ball into the scrum and then the people who were doing the scrum would kick it back. A scrum is held if you knock the ball on or you do a forward pass.

Now lineouts there would be 5 people in lineouts in a straight line and there was a person which was the throwing the ball in from out and the people who were in the straight line they would jump up and punch the ball into there side. Also there were no bumping or tackling (but I got bumped of for some reason by some people). By the way just to tell you but Lineouts are only held if the person with the ball goes out of boundaries. My defense technique is to wait for the person to come close to me so it would be easier for me to to rip the rip.

Please give me some helpful comments about what I could mention next time when I do a blog post?

Our Secret Mission

Well last Monday Room 6 and Room 8 had a secret mission so room 8 were in my class and and their class was closed. Miss Shresta and Miss Eagleson were also in my class. We also got super hero names my name was Alpha Phoenix. How I got my name was there was this slide on the Active Panel there was a name for each letter so if the first letter in my name was A it would be Alpha and the last name would Phoenix same thing but the month you were born. I am hoping we can do this again with Room 8. Here is the google slides which I made.         

Rippa Rugby

So for the past few weeks we have been having Rippa Rugby lessons. At the moment I am typing this blog post we have had 3 lessons in the first lesson we just learn how to pass. We also had a game to do with passing. The game was like there would be 2 groups in 1 group there would 3 people in a row. They had to pass the ball backwards while passing. After that we just did a few kicks and learned how to kick the ball. After those 2 activities we had a match. There were no scrums or lineouts if goes out for touch or the ball gets knocked we would tap and pass. In that game we drawed  the game 2-2. I played as a winger I didn't get the ball that much I just got it once and ran with the it and nearly scored. The person that got the most carries was Jamal if you haven't checked his blog check it out. Anyways whenever Jamal got the ball which was 9 times he would run out for touch he is very fast (slow).

In the second session the teacher taught us how to do scrums and Lineouts (Which I already know). I wanted to do Scrums with pushing, but pushing isn't allowed (I was so sad) after that we had a 20 minute match which my team won this time. Luckily enough I got a hat trick of tries. The first try was I had a 1v1 because everyone else on the other team was offside. I scored the try after jumping away from the oppositions player. My second try was the best I stepped 3 people with 1 step and then I had another 1v1 and I scored the try same with my next try.

In session 3 we only played games no matches we had 1v1 (which were the easiest ever) we also had a game where we would passing for 2 teams and which teams finished passing first would win. 

Swimming sessions

Well I am blogging because of  swimming lessons. Now let's go straight into the swimming. In our first session everyone was in the same pool because everyone was starting at beginner. I think I didn't do that well. I did better in the second session than I did in the first session. In the first session we were just understanding the basics such as forward paddling and backward paddling. We would also duck underwater to see who could stay under the water longest. The teachers didn't organise this we would do it in our own time.

It was pretty cool, anyways in the second session we practised forward swimming and backward paddling. In the second session the coach was very stern with us. The people that were in my group were Jashaia, Damian, Umair, Leilani and Emily.  Tomorrow is our final swimming session because today is November 11. I am hoping to do well in my last day for swimming at school. There won be swimming on Thursday though, because we will be going on a trip to the Museum for two days. But thats  another story to tell. 

My Mums surprise birthday party

20/10/2019 this is the date of my mothers birthday. Not exactly cause she was born at midnight so back to the beginning. 21/10/2019 My mothers birthday is today so much planning and decision making for me. I chose the present, the dress, the cake, and the type of balloon. Just before my mums birthday me and my aunt had planned so much. We had to plan who to give the cake and the balloons. In the end we gave it to my aunt's friend his name was Jetzen.

On the night of her Birthday party I was so excited I just finished watching the rugby world cup game quarter finals France vs Wales. I wanted to watch Japan vs South Africa, but mum said that I have school tomorrow and I had to sleep at 9:30. My aunt said that we were going to wake her up at 11:45 she also told me to go to sleep until 11 but I was too excited I couldn't sleep of course. So I stayed awake and waited sitting down on my bed. After I got bored. I decided to sit in the front room with my aunt. She was watching South Africa vs Japan so I watched as well and she didn't mind. The score was 5-3 at half time South Africa was winning. At 11:45 we started putting the decorations up, putting the balloons in the front room.

Then we went singing  into my mums room when we woke her up, oh my gosh she looked like 'why are these crazy people waking me up at 12:00 We got her to go to the front room. The look on her face when she saw the decorations. I loved that look it made me laugh so much. Another reason she was crying was because of the look on mums face when she saw the decorations. That was the best moment ever. When she cut the cake she looked so happy. When she unwrapped her present there was another wrapping on it. In that was a dress and under the dress was another wrapped present. In the present was a box in the box was a wrapper when she opened the box. THE GIFT OF DREAMS OHHHHH. Damn, I ruined the moment. Anyway she opened the gift and she started crying she saw an IPADDDD! My dad was there he was talking over a phone to me.

Skids

From the 16/ 8/2019 to the 20/9/2019 I will be going to Skids  I have already spent 3 days there. It was pretty fun. On the first day we played handball, it's a game where there are 4 boxes and 1 person will stand in each box. If the ball bounces in your box and you don't touch the ball to someone else's box you are out. I am not very good at it. We had noodles as well as afternoon tea, since that's how it's always done here.

On the second day we had popcorn as afternoon tea. After we did that we played touch rugby, but there was a twist we were playing with a balloon. I scored a try, my team won the game the score was 3-0.  The opponent didn't play great they just kept losing the balloon to us because of those horrid passes.

On the third day we had 2 muffins and a few fruits. Then we played soccer inside while the others were playing handball. After that we played soccer inside as well. We played that for a long time I was very tired cause before I went to skids I had to go to a calf club with the rest of my school. So that's we did in these 3 days so far in skids. I will update this blog after my time at skids is done. BYE FOR NOW

Soccer

Today I am gonna tell you how I feel about soccer. It's one of my favourite sports. I also like rugby and basketball. But I like soccer more I have watched a few soccer live games. I am mainly a dribbler and assister to others. I love being goaly since I am good at catching the ball. I am also good at diving and saving long shots, But when people take near shots against me as goaly I normally have to use my legs because it's very difficult for me to dive in time when the shot is being taken.

I play as a right side when I am trying to score. I go to the middle at times I don't always stay forward, I come back to the midfield to dribble sometimes I go back to defend but that happens very rarely. I am not good at defending but when we are playing against easy people, I can easily defend. I can't defend that good against Zion (he's a friend of mine) the problem is that he is faster than me and once he starts running quickly I can only stay behind  I can't run in front of him because he's way faster than me. We used play classic games such as room 6 (my class) vs  room 6 most of the time we win. But at times they win. Only at certain times.

Watching my first Rugby game

On the 21st of September 2019 was when I watched my first Rugby game. The game was the All Blacks vs the South Africa they are also know as the Springbooks.  My favourite rugby player is Beauden Barrett he plays as a Full Back. My man of the  match was Richie M'ounga cause he played so good kicks. The All Blacks was losing in the first 8 minutes of the game from 3 to 0 but then after a while they pulled the game back 8 to 3 and then they won the game.

 Since then I have been watching all the All Blacks games in Pool B except for All Blacks vs Italy because the game was cancelled due Super Typhoon Hagibis. If you don't know what that is search it up online. I already have searched it up online there is a live video shoving it. I expect the All Blacks to win the world cup but anything could happen. There is also a possibility that Wales could win the World cup since they beat Australia. The score at the end of the game was 29-25 Wales won. I watched the game live even though I expected Australia to win I wanted Wales to win since Australia is a rival to the All Blacks. 

Rugby competition

On the Eighteenth of September 2019, we had Rugby Competition we played 4 Rugby games. The first game we played was horrendous they kept scoring and we could do nothing. So that was how the first game ended for us. Our second game was the best game we played in all of the games.The other teams playing tactics were to go on the right side so that everyone would be on the right side and then they would pass the ball to the left side cause there was open space there and no one was defending on the left side until I  came on and did a ton of tackling it hurts. Plus I am SKINNY and not fast, so it is difficult for me. Don't be surprised we lost again by just 4 tries. I know you guys will be saying how did you lose it must have been easy, no it was not easy. If you think it was easy you should go on the rugby team for your school. Now the next  match was like the second worst game we  played we got smashed hard.

Do not ask me how we lost 3 games in a row it definitely was embarrassing. Now the last game it was against Wesley they had lost all their games just like us so far. I hope you know that I wrote so far. In this game everyone literally just gave it started with a scrum, you should know what that is by now. Where was I know yeah it started with a scrum in the 5 minute I was on the bench because I did something wrong. Well after the 5 seconds after the scrum they got the ball they passed and scored no one tried to tackle no one dived in to get the ball. It's like my team are saying "Hey you took the ball from us nice we'll let you score deal" and Wesley was like "Oh thanks very much for the deal yep we'll definitely score thanks again mates". On the other side of the pitch I was yelling on top of my voice to spread out and focus until I did on the pitch after I got subbed into the game for Faith one of my teammates. I know everybody who haven't played rugby will be like how have you lost, rugby is so easy that's a lie. Rugby is not EASY!!!!. Okay that is all bye, I am angry.

Ako Hiko Film Festival

For the past 2 weeks me and my class have been divided  into 5 groups. We made our own groups and we could not have more than 6 people in our group. In my group there was Sione, Gaylene, Gloria, Sariah, Leilani, Gabriella and me. The process of making scripts, story making and acting was not easy I'll tell you that. It was not very easy to film especially when the script took a lot of time.

I enjoyed having some time to act and speak to each other. I enjoyed the way my group worked together we were always on schedule until the scripts, they wasted a lot of time. I found a couple of things challenging  example like keeping Leilani occupied for a while because she got very restless. When I was acting it was difficult because I was quite nervous.

I found making sure everyone was happy and making sure they had a job. At times I got frustrated at times because people used to waste time by talking and coming in the films and ruining it. While making the film I also learned a lot like you would not be able to finish your film if you don't do everything in the right schedule. I also found out that you had to work in a team for the film to work out.

If anyone reading this is a year 4 or 5 in my school I would advise for next year's filming that you should always make sure everything is going on schedule. Make sure nothing is happening late, cause that could lead to your downfall since if things are not going as you want them to I don't think you will be able to finish your movie. I think you should choose a director which has experience being director or any other roles.

Rugby

Today and yesterday we had rugby training since on Monday the coach's from high school didn't come. There are 2 different types of rugby ripper and tackle I chose tackle. We started by running on the field to the fence and back, I came second in the race I felt bad but I also felt proud at the same time.After that we had a passing game where you had to pass the ball to the person next to you on the right and then the person on the left.

Then we played a match day before yesterday and my team won that game but yesterday we lost the game. I felt proud of myself during the match since I tackled everyone on the other team one by one. Everyone playing rugby said that I did quiet good. Some people told me that I have to improve on holding the ball tighter, and I agree I don't always hold the ball tight and sometime I just give it to the other team by mistake.

Basketball lesson 2

Today we had basketball training again. This time the coach (Jhalal) taught us five different passes the first one was overhead pass course you know what it is. The next pass is shoulder pass both right and left I found the right shoulder pass easier and the left harder. So after that we had the chest pass we had to throw the basketball to the other persons chest. Then we had the bounce pass this pass was the easiest of all the since you just had to bounce it to the other person. Between the passes Jhalal told us the most important thing is technique not speed or power. 

Then we played game called ball tag. In 1 team there were girls and in the other there were boys the game was that first boys would take the ball and try touch the girls by passing you can't throw the ball at people. Once you got close enough you had to touch the girl before they ran away. 

I'm glad I helped Aaron catch a girl. 
 What I enjoyed was playing the game ball tag since you had to work as a team to make the girls out. I want to work on my left shoulder pass and the over head pass just a little bit.

Basketball training

Today we had basketball training, it was astonishing. I was not expecting it to be this fun. The coach's name was Jelal, so the first thing was mastering the stance. It was very easy to master the stance. The coach told us to bend our legs and hands. After that we did a dribbling drills the coach told us that if you use your fingertips since we had more control. We  had to dribble with a basketball.

We had to choose a buddy  as well,  so you had to take turns each to use the basketball. Coach Jelal told us that we had to move the ball around both our hands and make sure both our hands are being used. I loved the end because we got to play a game at first when he said we were gonna play a game I thought he said that we were gonna play a match. But what he meant was just to  play a shooting game. Their was a shooting group and a dribbling group.

I was in the shooting group I scored one out of my two chances two score and the dribbling had to dribble through the cones and go around in a circle and if they reached the other side they would get a point. If we scored the person who was dribbling to the other side had to stop and stay there. I was the first person to score in the top 11 people that took shots.

Camp

From 31/6/2019 to 2/7/2019 The year sixes and year fives went to a camp. Before we went to the camp the teachers divided all the children that are going to camp to four groups. I was in the last group it was called Wha based on something in Maori. There would be different coaches for each activity their were four activities.

The first activity me and my group did was rock climbing there were three stages of the rock climbing that we had to complete. The first stage was the mini version of the big rock climbing. The second one was walking on a rope with help of other people on the other side, to make sure that if you fell over the others on the other side would catch the person, if the person fell.

Activity 2 was making a raft. At first the coach said to that he would make us into 3 groups also there were 10 people in my group. So he gave each group a compass and a place to check what was the degree if we got it right as he did we had to go look for a envelope. There would be a picture of something inside it. When the 3 groups came back at the hall after finding 3 envelopes each group. There would be 2 pictures inside each envelope. After we finished we the entire group Wha had to decide what pictures they wanted to use to make a raft. We used a 2 kayaks even though we didn't use them, we used rope,wood and barrels. We made the raft in shallow water one person for some reason didn't get into the water to help or anything like that her name was Yazmine. She might have had a fear of water or something. Otherwise everything was good also we had some free time to play with sailors. Oh no I ruined the surprise. Anyway activity 3 was my least favourite. The coach gave us maps, we had to be in smaller groups of two. The coach also gave us pictures of the places we had to find their were eleven of them she said we just needed to get four. Then she made something called Roro it was a water boiled to be purified and then raspberry flavour added to it.

 The last and best activity in my opinion was the sailing. We had to put our togs on and a swimsuit. Then everyone got on a boat, we had to use to  two boats since  their were ten people in our group six girls got on one boat and four boys got on one boat. Boys had the blue boat and girls had yellow. We
went near a place near our beach called Granny's bay and we played there for half an hour. When we went back to camp the wind was very fast. So we went quick as ever. The place we went for camp was called MERC, M stands for something which I forgot. E stands for Education. R stands for something and so does C. I must have forgotten everything. Thanks. Ashwin.

School genesis

Yesterday 2 women came to our school and spoke about science .Their names was Jenny and Jess. I found it boring because I don't like science at all. So I found it boring. They spoke about energy being formed into light and heat. They spoke about things that formed energy example  Solar Panels,water and the sun.  They left a human Generator. Everyone had a turn other than a few people. Here is a picture of me and others who did the human Generator. In the picture below there are 2 bulbs the first one is the 9 dollar one which is very easy  to make bright and it is 5 star efficiency. The second one is very difficult to make bright  and it has 2 star efficiency which makes the 9 dollar one better.

Percy Jackson book

Today I am gonna share with you a book I read, the book's name is Percy Jackson and the Greek Gods

the story was narrated by Percy Jackson who is the son is Poseidon.

Ghai was the first being on the planet she was the planet but she could take human form and visit Earth. She wanted sky to be her husband, so Chaos made Ouranos (sky-which could take human form). the husband Ghai wished for, was a horrible father  Ghai planned to kill Ouranos because he  threw the one hundred handed ones (children)and the elder cyclops (children) into Tarturus (underworld) because of how ugly they were.He was also fooled by his wife and children. Ouranos cursed Kronos that if he killed Ouranos when Kronos becomes king his children would dethrone him.
 Cursed by Ouranos(his father)that one day his kids would overcome him. Kronos marries Rhea who had six immortal kids which he tried to kill because of his father curse.This happened 1. Hestia ,2.Hera 3. Demeter   4. Posiedon   5. Hades    the sixth one though was better he sended Kronos  to Tarturus.
 Wife to Kronos had six kids with him. Kronos freaked when the first kid came because of the prophecy of Ouranos so he ate her. this upset Rhea. But she freaked of course freaked of course.
 This guy was different compared to the other gods Ghai had was napping now which means for a few millenia so with Ghai gone what did Rhea do. Ghai gave her some advice she said to go to the Island of Crete and give birth  to the baby she named him Zeus he lived on  the  island until he was a adult god. Until then she fooled Kronos into thinking the rock was a baby Ghai had given the rock to Rhea and make it look like a baby. At Kronoses palace he needed a Cup Bearer. Also gods had  the ability to turn into anything in the universe i don't  think everything but yeah. He appeared in font of Kronos in Titan form. Zeus learned a  lot of jokes and songs from the nymphs and the Centaurs which were created from the blood of Ouranos Kronos mixed into the water and the Nymphs and Centaurs. Zeus told couple of jokes he learned and songs. Kronos hired him immediately. Then Zeus became the most famous Cup Bearer in the Kingdom. One night Zeus put some sleep potion into Kronoses nectar and put faint motion into the other visitors nectar and then Kronos puked an puke and barfed the gods out. Zeus took the other gods to the island of Crete and made a plan that they should climb Mount Olympus. The Hundred Handed Ones and the Elder Cyclops threw boulders at Mount Othrys Zeus blasted the mountain Posiedon made storms Hades send waves of terror into Kronos's army. Zeus played a dice game to see who got the highest score Zeus got 1 Posiedon got 2 and Hades got 3. Zeus got married to Hera story will be explained when we reach Hera. Zeus holds the  number 2   record for the most number of demigod children.

Posiedon King of sea's and oceans rolled second place and got the sea's he is the father to Perseus
Jackson and many other demigods just like Zeus. Posiedon  Got married to Amphirite they made a good couple and had 3 children. The first one was Triton he became Posiedon's herald whenever Posiedon was out of his palace he  would blow the horn to say boss is coming look busy. The second was Rhode a sea nymph who married Helios titan of the sea. The third kid named Kymopoleia. You think Zeus was busy Posiedon holds the record for the  most amount of demigod children.

Demeter was the middle sister I'm not going to talk about Hestia because there is not much to talk about Hestia. I'm gonna admit it Demeter was hot, but don't get to excited because she's the god of wheat, grains and cereal. Before Zeus got married to Hera he wanted to have a go at Demeter she tried to run away and turned into a snake and got into a form of a snake and got into a hole so did Zeus and they had a baby her name was Persophone. Demeter was very over protective over Persophone. One day Hades took Persophone and went to the under world also in the Greek days if you  eat food from a diffrent person's house if you eat their food you are accepting the contract to stay at the other person's house Persophone didn't want to stay but she ate a Pomegranate. In the upper world Demeter made the world starve. So Zeus had an idea that in the spring Persophone would be with Demeter and in the spring  she would be with Hades in the winter to some people that is the reason there is no crops grown in the winter.

Hera  Married to Zeus had three children together. One night there was a guy who killed other people the first person to kill other people with a sword so he was invited to Mount Olympus and he was not on his best behaviour he stole glances at Hera. Hera excused herself and the guy [his name was Ixion] followed her to the hall and tried to kiss her but Hera quickly ran away I don't know why she could have just made him into a slug. But she was surprised by the flirting since it had been centuries since she had to deal with that. So she decided to make Zeus feel jealous since he was always having affairs with other women. So the punishment was Ixion became immortal and was attached to a chariet and had to fly around the

On 26.6.2019  All the year sixes went to Whaikowhai Intermediate   I am looking forward to  playing sports since they have a large variety of sports like Table Tennis,Basketball,Football,Tennis and a couple of others sports, also I am a big fan of reading so I  am also looking forward to that.
I am gonna miss my teachers,friends,principal I am gonna miss everything even the fighting and pushing.

Ramadan

Tomorrow is Eid. We have been learning about Ramadan because we have a lot of muslim students in our class.

We had to create DLO [digital learning object about Ramadan. I choose to use google drive showcasing what i learnt. Here it is.
